Noel Gallagher Outselling Matt Cardle

Noel Gallagher outselling Matt Cardle- Noel Gallagher has taken the early lead over Matt Cardle in the race for this week's album number one. X Factor winner and painter/decorator extraordinaire Matt Cardle has topped the UK Singles Chart today, earning him the coveted title of Christmas Number One. The singer went directly to the top of the charts, entering this week with ‘Many Of Horror’ his pop rendition of Biffy Clyro’s ‘When We Collide’.

The song easily shook off contention from Rihanna with ‘What’s My Name’, outselling the R&B star by over 300,000 copies. Despite a torrential backlash towards Cardle from Biffy Clyro fans, the Scottish rockers probably won’t be too upset by the success of the X Factor rendition: their original version re-entered the chart at Number Eight. The album is the first to be released since Robbie Williams rejoined the band earlier this year.
