mike patterson

Mike Patterson the defensive tackle who collapsed before a drill in practice this morning and was taken away in an ambulance, is being treated for dehydration, according to Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News.

That’s nothing to take lightly. Complication from dehydration are what killed Korey Stringer in the Minnesota Vikings training camp 10 years ago this week. But hopefully the medical staff has gotten to Patterson quickly and they can properly treat his body.
In the heat, dehydration is a significant issue and medical staffs say it’s as much to do with maintaining fluid levels as it is eating properly. The Eagles, of course, have popularized the use of pickle juice to beat dehydration in the past.
