Golf Cart Crash And Texas State Title Game- Patrons at the 5A Division II State High School Championship football game in Texas witnessed the unexpected Saturday night when a golf cart got loose and ran over a group of people near midfield. A worker stopped the cart before it did more damage.
The cart toppled Spring Dekaney coach Willie Amendola, who was being interviewed near the Cowboys midfield star, along with several others clustered about him moments after Dekaney had beaten Cibolo Steele 34-14. Hundreds of people were scattered about the field or were in the stands at the time.


Spring Dekaney head coach Willie Amendola was conducting an interview at the 50-yard line at the time. The group of eight men, including the coach, photographers, reporters and a television cameraman, were run over by the cart.



Golf Car Speed
Golf carts may be operated on a secondary highway road on which the speed limit is 35 miles per hour or less. However, Golf carts may cross at an intersection of a highway with a speed limit greater than 35 miles per hour.
